What is CBD?
CBD is simply the popular abbreviation for "cannabidiol." Cannabidiol is the most therapeutically beneficial cannabinoid of 100s of cannabinoids found in the Sativa L family of the cannabis species. Research shows that CBD has broad therapeutic value, responsible for the many known health benefits of the cannabis family.
For decades, cannabidiol was known as "the other cannabinoid," taking a backseat to its psychoactive cousin THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) which is the high-inducing cannabinoid which makes marijuana so popular for recreational use. CBD content in marijuana actually moderates the psychoactive action of THC.
Radius products use CBD from hemp which has only the smallest trace levels of THC.
Is CBD legal?
CBD from hemp, (and only hemp!) is legal in all 50 states since the recent passage of the 2018 Farm Bill. While CBD is present in the marijuana plant, high THC content is also present. In order for a cannabis plant to be classified as "legal hemp," the THC content must be less than .03%.
The hemp must also be cultivated according to the rigorous standards set forth in the 2018 Farm Bill. Radius CBD products are all derived from carefully cultivated US grown hemp in accordance with those standards.
Can I pass a drug test while using CBD?
If you're using legal Radius CBD products a drug test for the THC cannabinoid in marijuana won't be a concern. If you're using a high CBD medical marijuana product, on the other hand, it will be accompanied by higher than trace levels of psychoactive THC which can cause you to fail a drug test.
This is why it's so important to have a CBD supplier you can trust. CBD purity is essential for legal and safety reasons, which is why Radius CBD products are all derived from carefully cultivated US hemp and independently lab tested to ensure the highest legal quality.
Is CBD safe? Can I get addicted or overdose on CBD?
Informed health consumers have turned to CBD as the safest alternative to prescription drugs and over-the-counter NSAIDs for pain management, better sleep, and relief from anxiety and stress. Your body already produces its own natural supply of essential cannabinoids. This means when you ingest CBD you're not introducing a synthetic foreign substance into your system.
This is why CBD is a supplement and not a drug, similar to essential vitamins and minerals. Many popular sleep, anxiety, antidepressant, and pain medications come with long lists of hazardous side effects. CBD is non-addictive and non-toxic, and there has never been an overdose death attributed to its use.
What is the difference between hemp and marijuana?
Radius CBD products are derived from the only federally legal cannabis plant, which the law designates as "industrial hemp". Hemp has always had many industrial uses as a valued crop prized for its strong fibers. For centuries hemp has been a reliable source of cordage, cloth, paper, textiles, and numerous other industrial purposes. The THC content in hemp has naturally dropped to the most minuscule trace levels. Fortunately, industrial hemp is naturally rich in beneficial CBD content.
Marijuana, on the other hand, has been bred primarily for recreational purposes. Marijuana growers have been manipulating the plant for decades to produce the highest THC content and increasingly intense mental highs. CBD is known to have a strong moderating effect on the psychoactive property of THC. CBD content is actually undesirable in recreational marijuana since it is literally the "buzzkiller" cannabinoid. For general health purposes, recreational marijuana has the exact opposite of the desired medicinal proportions: very high in psychoactive THC and quite low in health-enhancing CBD content.
Today marijuana and hemp are as distinctly different as night and day. CBD is emerging as the most beneficial cannabinoid for a wide variety of ailments and disorders. CBD in marijuana is always accompanied by THC though. Medical marijuana users often need to experiment with various THC/CBD ratios to get the results they seek without mental impairment. With Radius CBD products from hemp, this is not a concern.
